Safe Harbour Kids Care was founded to serve families who face significant barriers to accessing mainstream childcare. We understand that many families struggle to find affordable, quality care for their children — and we're here to help.

Families We Serve

Low-Income UK Families

Many families in the UK struggle with the high cost of childcare. Even with government support, costs can be prohibitive for families on low incomes. We provide subsidised places to help make childcare accessible and affordable.

Families with No Recourse to Public Funds

Immigrant families with NRPF status are not eligible for most government benefits, including childcare support. This can leave parents unable to work or study, and children without access to early years education. We welcome these families and provide the same quality care to all children.

Understanding No Recourse to Public Funds

"No Recourse to Public Funds" (NRPF) is a condition attached to certain immigration statuses in the UK. It means individuals cannot access most benefits, including:

Universal Credit and Tax Credits
Housing Benefit
Free school meals (in most cases)
Funded childcare entitlements

This can create significant hardship for families, particularly those with young children. Parents may be unable to work without childcare, creating a difficult cycle. We aim to break this cycle by providing affordable care that enables parents to work, study, or attend training.
