About Safe Harbour Kids Care
A Charitable Incorporated Organisation dedicated to making quality childcare accessible to the families who need it most.
Our Purpose
Safe Harbour Kids Care exists because every child deserves the best possible start in life, regardless of their family's circumstances. We saw that too many families in our communities were unable to access affordable, quality childcare — particularly low-income UK families and immigrant families with No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF).
Without childcare, parents struggle to work, study, or attend training. Children miss out on the rich learning experiences that high-quality early years provision offers. We established Safe Harbour Kids Care to change this — to provide a safe, nurturing place where children can flourish while their parents build better futures for their families.
Our Values
These principles guide everything we do
Inclusion
We welcome all families with warmth and respect, regardless of background, immigration status, or financial situation.
Safety
The safety and wellbeing of children is paramount. We maintain rigorous safeguarding standards in everything we do.
Quality
Every child deserves excellent care. We deliver EYFS-aligned provision with qualified, trained practitioners.
Community
We work alongside families, partners, and local organisations to support the communities we serve.
Affordability
We believe cost should never be a barrier to quality childcare. We offer subsidised places to those who need them.
Growth
We nurture children's development and support families to build skills, confidence, and brighter futures.
Charitable Status
Safe Harbour Kids Care is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) registered in England and Wales. As a charity, we are committed to transparency, accountability, and using our resources effectively to deliver our mission.
We are governed by a board of trustees who volunteer their time and expertise to ensure our charity serves its beneficiaries well.
Community-Based Care
We deliver childcare in community venues — places that are already familiar and accessible to the families we serve. By partnering with community centres, churches, and other local organisations, we bring quality early years provision directly into neighbourhoods.
This approach reduces barriers for families who may face challenges travelling long distances or feel uncomfortable in unfamiliar settings. It also helps us keep costs down, so we can focus our resources on what matters most: the children.
